The French critic and philosopher Roland Barthes compiled lists of things he liked (j'aime) and things he disliked (je n'aime pas).
Some of his 'likes' and 'dislikes' are shown in these two illustrations, which have been hand-drawn using watercolour, aquarelles, pastels and pencils. Both illustrations were created exclusively to accompany an article about Barthes by Maria Popova of The Marginalian. They are available for sale as prints on Society6.
